April Mission of the Month
This April, for our Mission of the Month we are supporting UMCOR, the United Methodist Committee on Relief—an international humanitarian organization dedicated to alleviating human suffering around the world.
UMCOR responds to natural disasters, humanitarian crises, and ongoing needs both globally and within the United States. From hurricanes and floods to refugee support and long-term recovery, UMCOR works alongside communities to provide relief, rebuild lives, and restore hope.
About UMCOR:
Founded in 1940, UMCOR is the humanitarian relief arm of The United Methodist Church. What makes UMCOR unique is its commitment to 100% of donations going directly to aid—none of your gift is used for administrative costs, which are covered through other means.
UMCOR’s work includes:
Disaster Response & Recovery: Providing emergency supplies, shelter, and long-term rebuilding support after disasters strike.
Refugee & Migration Ministries: Assisting displaced individuals and families with resettlement, housing, and basic needs.
Health & Hunger Relief: Supporting sustainable programs that address food insecurity, clean water access, and healthcare.
Global Partnerships: Empowering local communities by working with trusted partners and emphasizing long-term resilience.
UMCOR’s mission is rooted in compassion and dignity—walking alongside people in their most vulnerable moments and helping communities move from crisis toward wholeness.
How You Can Help:
Give Financially: Donations support UMCOR’s disaster response, recovery, and humanitarian ministries worldwide. Every dollar given goes directly to people in need.
Pray: Lift up those affected by disasters and crises, and pray for relief workers and volunteers serving on the front lines.
Learn & Share: Visit umcmission.org/umcor to learn more about UMCOR’s work and share its mission with others.
By supporting UMCOR during April, we join a global effort to offer relief, restore hope, and be a tangible expression of love in the world. Thank you for your generosity and faithfulness in caring for neighbors near and far.

March Mission of the Month
This March, for our mission of the month we are supporting Grace Children’s Hospital, a life-changing healthcare mission dedicated to serving children and families in Haiti with compassionate medical care and community health services.
About Grace Children’s Hospital
Grace Children’s Hospital, formerly known as International Child Care, has been a beacon of hope in Haiti since 1967, working tirelessly to prevent illness, promote well-being, and restore health to some of the most vulnerable populations.
At its core, Grace Children’s Hospital provides essential medical services to children and families, including care for tuberculosis (TB), HIV, and other critical health needs. Thousands of patients visit the hospital and its associated clinics each year, benefiting from lifesaving treatment and services that strengthen community health.
Grace Care also offers specialized programs such as:
• Outpatient and Eye Clinics offering ongoing care and health monitoring.
• Prenatal and Women’s Health Services supporting expecting mothers and families.
• TB and HIV Treatment Programs addressing both acute and long-term medical needs.
Through its work, Grace Children’s Hospital not only heals bodies but also brings hope and resilience to communities facing ongoing health challenges.
How You Can Help
Your support this March can make a real difference in the lives of children and families served by Grace Children’s Hospital:
• Give Financially: Donations help provide critical healthcare services, medical supplies, and support for the hospital’s ongoing programs in Haiti.
• Pray for Healing and Strength: Lift up the patients, medical staff, and the communities they serve in your prayers.
• Spread Awareness: Share GraceCare.life with your friends and family so more people can learn about and support this impactful mission.
By partnering with Grace Children’s Hospital this month, we help ensure that children and families in Haiti receive the care they need—and that hope continues to grow across borders. Thank you for your generosity and compassionate support!

February Mission of the Month
February Mission of the Month: Hinckley Area Food Pantry
This March, we are supporting the Hinckley Area Food Pantry, a vital resource serving residents of Big Rock, Hinckley, Maple Park, Shabbona, and Waterman who face food insecurity.
Operating since 1993, the Hinckley Area Food Pantry provides essential grocery basics in a client-choice model, allowing individuals and families to “shop” for what they need in a setup similar to a grocery store. This empowering approach ensures that clients can select items that best meet their specific needs.
In addition to groceries, the pantry occasionally offers school supplies and household essentials, providing well-rounded support to the community.
How You Can Help:
• Donate Non-Perishable Food Items: Drop off canned goods, dry goods, and other non-perishable foods in our collection bins during March.
• Give Financial Support: Monetary donations help the pantry purchase fresh and specific items in bulk.
• Pray and Advocate: Keep this mission and the families it serves in your prayers and spread awareness about this important cause.
Together, we can ensure that our neighbors in need have access to the essentials for a healthy and hopeful future. Thank you for your support and generosity!
