Playlist
As Victor Hugo once said, “Music expresses that which cannot be put into words and that which cannot remain silent.” Songs have a way of expressing the soul in profound ways. We all have songs that articulate the story of our lives. If pressed we could put together a playlist to reflect our life journey. There is also a playlist in the Bible that tells the story of Israel’s journey: the Book of Psalms. The Psalms are the songs that God gave us to sing. The Book of Psalms is the playlist of the Jewish and Christian people. In this song book we find ways to express that which we can’t always put into words. There are Psalms for the moments we question God, struggle with pain, celebrate the deepest joys, and search for purpose and happiness. During this series we’ll read through the Psalms, and join in song with our ancestors in the faith in this playlist of life.
