Dangerous Prayers
Many of us pray for comfort, protection, and blessing. We ask God to keep us safe, to make life easier, to smooth the rough edges of our days. But what if prayer was never meant to be safe? What if the most powerful prayers are the ones that unsettle us, because they open us up to God’s transforming work within and around us? In Dangerous Prayers, we’ll listen to the words of those who dared to pray boldly: Search me. Lead me. Send me. Through the Gospel of Matthew, we’ll walk with Jesus from the waters of baptism, through the call to follow, to the moment of being sent out into the world. Each prayer risks something, but in return we discover something far greater. Whether you’ve prayed your whole life or aren’t sure how to begin, this series is for anyone brave enough to pray dangerous prayers.
